KINDERGARTEN
Kindergarteners are eager and enthusiastic learners who are curious to know about the world around them. This inquisitive nature of our youngest students will be fostered so that it grows to last a lifetime. Therefore integrated thematic units are the foundation of the kindergarten curriculum. Some of these units include Dinosaurs, Insects, Desert, Ocean Life, and Space which are then incorporated into the core learning subjects of Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. This allows students to begin to see that the different subjects they learn in school are related and can be utilized together. Most importantly, this integrated curriculum promotes critical thinking skills as well as hands-on learning experiences.
Not only does the kindergarten curriculum focus on academics, but it also emphasizes the social, emotional, and physical development of the students. The children are encouraged to explore their roles as classmates, as family members, and as neighbors. The students will discover that they are unique individuals with different feelings and that they have responsibilities both at school and at home. Our kindergarten is a place where children can build long lasting and cooperative friendships that help to create a warm and loving learning experience!
